Author Bio

Hello writers, authors, and readers! I once owned a hair salon near Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. My clients knew that my oldest son, Little David, now an adult, was deaf and blind. I told them about my experiences as a young, U.S. military wife living in Asia. I detailed the agonizing challenges we faced as a military family of color, caring for a disabled child, while stationed in a foreign land. One client told me that when I talked about Little David, it helped her find the determination she needed to fight for her autistic son’s education. She made me promise to write a book about my experiences in order to encourage other mothers of physically challenged children. I took steps to develop my writing skills, and then in 2003, I founded Writers’ Resource Center (WRC) to also help other writers and aspiring authors. In January 2005, I fulfilled my promise to my client. Visions: A Memoir was published to much acclaim. Through WRC, I ardently dedicated two decades to helping writers become published authors, while building WRC into a vibrant writing community. In 2023, I retired from WRC, and now serve on the Advisory Board as Founder Emeritus. Please enjoy your visit to my page and the rest of the WRC website.
